You're missing my point, Jim. You and Pete said that women want to change men and the men don't want things to change. Myself and many of my girlfriends would argue that it is the exact opposite. Sorry, three divorces were no fun and I just don't see any humor in it. If you're going to point out deficiencies in the female gender, look for something that isn't equally applicable to men.

I figured I would be ahead of the game if I stopped at one divorce. I was never one to place my hand on a hot stove a second time, just to see if my first impression that it really, really hurt was correct.

I am poking fun at every single one of us, myself included, and gender is just one little piece of that black humor. No person ever truly understands everything that is inside another person. Just when you think you do, they will surprise you. Keeps the game interesting. Heck, we are all in constant states of growth and change, and at times I hardly know myself.

You know? Probably the best thing you can do for any relationship is to stop the blame game. Be honest, always be kind and look to improve yourself before you try to improve your partner. But stop trying to blame them for your unhappiness. Your happiness is up to you. If someone continually makes you unhappy: WHY ARE YOU STILL THERE?
