Steve, if you want truly waterproof, use Durarite .

Most water-resistant (not truly waterproof) logbooks use Rite in the rain , which has the surface finish you describe.

All the best, James

Looks like the Rite in the Rain would be what I'm looking for. Any experience with them?

Thanks James,

Steve

Most gloss paper that is used by commercial printers will be refered to as either 80# Gloss or 100# Gloss. You can also get Matte finish in the same weights if you don't want the shiny look. It will still be coated though. You should contact a local offset printer and they will give you a piece for you to test.

Printer's typically purchase the paper in large sizes, but you can probably arrange to have them cut it down to the size and quantity you need. Be sure and test a piece with your printer before buying a bunch.

This my custom made log page with focus on having a large empty area for notes and sketches, yet contain as much information as possible in the header.
It contains all info that I am interested in, YMMV.
It is made in A6 format, 4 on each A4 paper.
Illustrator CS2 format, compatible with pdf.

Here is a log I finally finished. Just wanting some input/ideas.
Thanks.

I'm making my own log book pages and am courious as to what type of pages are used. If you can, tell me what part number, etc. and where you got it.

Presently, I'm using HP color Laser paper "Heavy Weight", 28 lb with a 96 brightness. I got it at Staples. #HPL285R. This still isn't the nice, thick and shiny paper that commerical log pages are made of.

So, what do you all use?

Thanks
Steve

I buy my log books for $20. They have 50 waterproof pages and I can drop them in a rinse take if I so desire.

Here's the log I use. I recently updated it again to include my new equipment and configurations. I started with one someone had posted here and kept adding pieces useful to me.

I just got a look at your log. Very nice. I like the identification of your weight distribution, nice touch. That would have helped me immensely when I was working on trim.

Thanks, Its a work in progress. Always remember how much lbs, but never the ratio. Figured this would help jog my memory.

Can't get your link to open, is it still working?
