I'm thinking of going out tomorrow. I'm wondering if anyone's been to either locations recently and how are things looking?

We did Whytecliff today, and I have to say that I was SO impressed with the vis! I also realize that anyone who hadn't been diving the past few weeks would think I was smoking something funny, but it was a major improvement in my opinion.

I'd say it improved significantly at about 40 feet and below that it was good.
Enjoy your dives!

The same goes for Porteau on Sunday.

Except for the top 20 feet the viz was really good. The top 20 weren't great, but also not as bad as it has been.

Yeah, whytecliff wasn't bad at all. Around the cut, the vis was actually quite good. Not soupy at all, which is amazing compared to what it's been recently.

I dove Ansell Point on Saturday and the vis was pretty bad. The water was murky and green. It was really stirred up due to the low tide and wave action. It didn't clear up much at depth either.

On the other hand, we saw a really big octopus. Even fed it a crab. That was cool.
