I did my first shore dive about a month ago and found it to be the hardest dive yet. I was lucky enough to go with an experienced diver but I found the walking through the sand and the surf in the shallow water really pooped me out in a hurry. I will continue to work on my strength and maybe I will find it easier next time.. if I ever do it again!

I agree w/ Ann Marie, get a weight intregated BC and a smaller tank you will be much more comfortable. I am 4'11'' and I have a hard time handling all my gear when shore diving. Also, were you wearing a hood or vest? I find if I wear a nice hood and vest I can shed some "rubber" and not feel so stiff and like the Michelin man. It will get easier, hang in there and good luck!
