Thanks to Rick Marshall for setting up a weekend of diving for my buddy Dan and I with The Dive Locker. They have a beautiful Parker boat.
I'll try to condense this as much as possible.

June 6 They took us to "The Race" near P-town. Viz was 15-20'. Temp above thermocline was about 52*. We did 3 drift dives for lobsters. Most lobsters were 5-10 lbs but full of eggs. However we managed to get about 35 that weren't short or carrying eggs. It was just too easy and fun. Drifting and bagging.

June 7 First dive was Perth Ambroy Barges(Nauset) 105' depth. Viz was 40-50':D.
Then a schooner barge @ 104'. Temp was the same. Here we were looking for deadeyes and brass pins. I only managed to get a pic of one deadeye that I couldn't free up.

June 8 We grabbed our salvage equipment and headed for the Aransas(passenger steamer) If I remember correctly, it was carrying scrap brass metal when it went down in 1905. It's 55' under and temp was 42*. After about 45 minutes of hammering and digging, we came up with some pretty good artifacts. According to the crew, my buddy Dan got the best one so far. It's a doll head.

After going through this pile of junk...

Here's what we have.

Butter knife and watch. The insides of the watch are missing. Only thing I notice are the flowers etched on the back.

On the cartridges...Winchester Leader No.12 1901

IMG_0006.jpg

A ball in a socket. The other item has Waterbury Clock Co. on one side.

IMG_0005.jpg

These look like shower curtain rings.

These are lamp parts with Climax on the "wheel"

This is not the original one because I don't have this one. The long cylinder section is the part he found. It's an 1894 Harmonica made in Germany.

Second dive was to the "Walmart Wreck" (schooner) I think the biggest find there was the Deadeye like the one pictured above. I found a hinge about 16" long. No inscription.

I have to thank Roup and Jerry for sharing their lobsters with us. Jerry, Bryan and Bill manned the boat like professionals and made it a whole lot more fun. Rick Marshall, set this dive up for us, let us crash at his cottage, cooked the lobsters the first night, cooked scallops the second night, and cape dive locker in Hyannis. The Dive Locker. Feel free to call them and dive.

So you took lobsters without a license?

Yak,

Thanks for showing interest in this post. I'm sure Armando will reply to your question.

When I invited Armando and Dan, who live in CT, to consider coming to the Cape to dive it was made clear they would not be allowed to catch lobsters without a MA lobster license.

One of the great features to the Cape, in addition to the incredible visibility and abundance of lobsters and shipwrecks, is the quality of people who live there. As Armando points out, Roup and Jerry, who each caught over a dozen lobsters, were very generous in giving away everything they caught so we could have a nice lobster dinner and everyone could take lobsters home to share with their families.

If you have not already done so, I hope you get a chance to dive the Cape and have as much fun as we did.

Rick

Armando,

Thanks again for making the trip out to the Cape. It was fun diving with you and Dan, we'll have to line up another charter soon with Canned Air, Gauntlet, Daybreaker or The Dive Locker (we're lucky to have so many good charters and great diving in this area).

Nice job on the post!

Rick

uh-huh.

My apologies for causing any confusion. (A little too much bragging.) I did get to taste the lobsters but was not allowed to catch'em. The Capt made that clear during the first briefing. But still, it was a whole lot of fun. I never saw so many lobsters out on the sand during daylight. I gotta buy me a cottage in the Cape. I edited the first post for obvious reasons. Hope this clears things up.
