Haven't seen anything on liveaboard, and we're wondering about doing something that would start in Roatan and end up in Placencia, Belize. Anyone have any experience doing anything like that, recommended operators, leads to follow up on, particularly interesting places to visit in a 5-6 day outing?

Thanks much !

Afaik you won't find anything like that. I've never seen a lob that does that route.

In the Bay Islands, there's the Utila Aggressor - it runs between Utila, Roatan and some of the outer islands. In Belize there's the Belize Aggressor but it stays near Belize. Aggressor Fleet | The ultimate in live-aboards since 1984

There's also the Hughes boat - Sundancer II Welcome to Belize & Peter Hughes Diving - Live-Aboard Excellence to World Class Dive Destinations

Nekton used to move a boat there in winter also but it looks like they're not doing it through 2010.

You would just scratch the surface in 5 or 6 days in either place let alone attempting to do both in that time. I don't believe you'll find any liveaboards in either place that travel between the two places. All the major boats board on Saturday afternoon and return the next Saturday morning to the same port.

I've done two Belize liveaboards and 3 in the Bay Islands. The Bay Islands (Utila Aggressor) is by far a better trip in my opinion.
