By now you likely already saw the other thread, Raja Ampat Liveaboard for a First Timer, where people mention having done live-aboard and perhaps some content may be of interest. I link in here in case this thread comes up in someone's future search, to help direct them to more info.

Richard.

I did, thank you. Even though the OP was looking at a different price point, I had skimmed through it just for differing perspectives.

Many other posters will be able to comment on the Mermaid LoB's. From personal experience, the Raja Manta's cruise director, dive masters, and crew are outstanding. They are safe and really work well with all divers. Full disclosure, I used to guide with the White Manta while in Singapore and Thailand. Send me a PM, if you have any questions.

Raja Manta and Blue Manta very different boats. Both have high quality crew, staff, and DMs, but the Blue Manta is a larger, more-high end boat. I have been on both boats, so PM me with questions. Most single customers save money by sharing a cabin and that usually works out fine.

Oh, I'm definitely still considering the Raja Manta for sure. It'll just be at the top of the budget range I'm wanting to spend. Just got excited momentarily, and incorrectly, about the 10% supplement is all. Ill be sure to drop you a line. Thanks.

Glad to see narrowing it down to specific boats resulted in useable info. I can recommend Dewi Nusantara but it can't be described as budget. With a large influx of new boats to that area, consider that boats with some years in the area could result in a better experience for your money because they know where to go and when. You could use that Undercurrent subscription you had to buy to read up on that.... lol

Aurora is the newest member of the All Star Liveaboard fleet. We offer half cabin bookings or single supplement for an additional $190 per night. The standard rate for Raja Ampat is $390/night.
