Hi,
My wife and I are going on vacation to Little Gasparilla Island in Florida next month (march). We are hoping to do some diving. Does anyone know the diving situation in that area? We will need a dive shop to rent tanks and possibly additional equipment. We are coming from Michigan-would it be wise to rent equipment here and bring it? Could anyone please give us a tips for this trip.

Thanks,
Pawel

That's a great area up there for fishing, beaches, and even boating but
it is not really an area where you see a lot of diving. There are some shore
diving opportunities in the area and even some charters in Tampa and I think
one out of Venice. Also the gulf is still pretty cold as we have had a very cool
winter and some late cold fronts that are still moving through. The good news is
that I think our winter is almost over !
