Hi Perfect 1
It's been a few years but I have fond memories of my stay at LCBR. The diving, as many have noted, is certainly among the best in the Caribbean, most notably the breathtaking wall diving. I don't have my log book handy, but I'd say the water temp in late May should be around 80 degrees, maybe a degree or two warmer. Viz was great when I was there, averaging 75-100 feet. Very healthy and abundant corals and lots of sea life, though light on the big stuff other than turtles (saw a couple of sharks out in the blue, off the walls).
The resort is very comfortable with large rooms, great views, fantastic and very plentiful food; good, comfortable and fast dive boats (though the trip around the island to the walls is at least 20 minutes from the dock) and a super quiet, sandy beach. Staff was very proficient and friendly. The only downsides (and they are minor!) are the aroma from the inland marsh when the wind's in the "right" direction, a bar that can get pretty raucous at night and the fact that the resort beach is in a very shallow lagoon; the water along the shore is tepid, brackish and full of seaweed--not really fit for swimming. That said, a couple of hours in a hammock in the shade of a palm tree after the day's dives are well worth the price of admission.
Enjoy your stay--you'll have a ball!
Best Regards,
