LCBR is by far the best choice of the 3 you have listed. Cocoview reminds me of a very rustic resort with limited food choices. I think the food and diving are hands down much better in LCBR.

To answer your questions, I do not know of any dives sites being closed. To be LCBR is Caribbean diving at its finest.

I have not heard of any dive sites being closed as well. The last time we were there they did have one site where the mooring ball had broken off and so we couldn't tie up to that site but no doubt it has been repaired since then.

Thank you BDSC and Carriemak. I will see if I can book LCBR for April. I think a beach front room is what we want if they have one available.
Coco view offered to wait list us for April 2012. Have you ever been on Coco view's wait list and been able to get a room at the resort? I know they put you up in a beach house if you don't clear, but we love the look of the over the water rooms there.

What you probably heard about was just the periodic "resting" of dive sites. There are a couple of new sites they have put mooring balls on within the last year or two, and I think they took a couple of sites "off exhibit" to give them a rest. It may be that you read somewhere else about them doing that with some more sites, and if it is planned, I haven't heard anything about it. I will say that the two new sites we dove this time were spectacular and had really lush growth on them. There are really no "bad" sites on the Bloody Bay Wall or Jackson's Bight, and even if they take the mooring ball off of one, you can still access it from the site next door if you really want to see it.

The other possibility is that what you read about was that sometimes the north side where the Bloody Bay Wall is can be inaccessible due to north winds and high seas. That is very unpredictable and can happen any time of year, but is probably more likely to happen in winter time. I have been there in May and never had any issue with that, but weather is weather and is always a variable you can't control.

IMO, Cocoview is not worth a wait when you can go to LCBR. I would not make a return trip to Cocoview.

I agree. The total experience at LCBR far surpassed what I experienced at Cocoview. Cocoview was OK and I had a good time there but the diving along BBW and the food at the LCBR was on a different level than Cocoview. Not really even close.
