Actually, I believe we can make a significant dent in the population in areas that divers frequent if that is what is permitted and supported. I have no hopes of stopping the spread, just a little population control. I guess we will see if it does any good. I doubt if they will be going on any endangered species list any time soon.

Well, you're probably right, it may be possible to keep them out of some areas. That's why I reported all the ones I saw.

I am am invasive species specialist from the west coast. I have grave conserns about the Lionfish exposion and means of control. This is the most important topic of my converasations with all of the agencies involved in developing plans for future control of the highly invasive species. Please stay tuned for more info and hopefully, request for help in the programs developed for Lionfish control.

Kill 'em all!
Let Poseidon sort em' out!

Not really, just whack them where they are exotic and a depreadator.

Chug
Hates Lionfish outside of their natural range.

I say let them be and let NATURE take its course. It will balance out eventually. You seem to have some desire to control the uncontrollable.

Hmm ... lemme see ... by that line of reasoning, we should also let NATURE take care of global warming, because it's just a natural phenomenon anyway, right?? :rofl3:

You are the one who choses to belive in it.. I for one do not believe in "Global Warming"..

I still drive big V8s and have no regard for my emissions.

When you find out GW is not real, then what will you do? Keep driving your prius? You think it didnt have a mega carbon footprint being made? Keep dilluting yourself.

But this topic is about lionfish and I for one wont be around anyone killing them.

hmm. I count 3 there.. Full force huh?

I do not agree with the whole "lets kill them cause they are invasive"..
Lets think about the U.S. Who was here first and who was "invasive".. Look what we did. Now we want to be hippocritcal and say a fish cant do the same?

You are correct, look what Europeans did to America compared to what the Native Indians did. Learn from history, don't repeat the same mistake!

OOOoooh, ooh . . . :happywave: Can you do something about all the Californians moving into Arizona, gobbling up all our houses at ridiculous prices? :D They are shutting out the natives, driving home prices so high the natives cannot afford to buy anymore . . .

:rofl3:
