Aquarium owners dump fish they can't take care of into the ocean. The lionfish get together and reproduce. Now, they have set up shop in the Atlanctic and eat little fish and shrimp, and thrive because they have no natural predators. Its like a buffet for lionfish!

I spotted the tiniest one with Matt and RIOceanographer at Hazard ave in Narrangassett this summer. Go figure. Was an excellent sigth to see when it opened up its fins.

While diving with the Aquacat last summer, I actually saw the Lionfish at the Blue Hole. Had me wondering if I was narked for a sec. Most likely out grew someone aquarium.

Ya... it really hung out with us for a long time. Got some pretty good shots of it. When did you go out w/ them? We were there last June.

I was on the Cat Ppalu in November, had thanksgiving on the boat. Had a great trip and they really gave us the type of diving we asked for. High marks.
