Well, I've got tank, backpack, reg (double hose), mask fins, vest (pre-bc), depth gauge and compass, all from 1962 and all work fine. However I don't normally dive them as current gear is much improved after 40 years. Regardless, with proper care gear will last longer than you chose to dive it.
