Since hearing about the new MK 17 evo2 (not yet available) based on the body style of the MK 19 EVO and at the same time learning about the mk11 EVO actually being available I’ve wanted to try one, so I started with a mk19 which is easy to locate.

Nice performance, I had converted to DIN but I still don’t like swivels for the hoses, personal dislike not a real issue but checking this new style of first stage was the point. Its heavy in yoke coming in at just under 2lb.

A bit lighter in DIN

And DIN
Pretty hefty but great performance. Next up the MK 11evo

There are now 3 styles of MK 11, the original fat body which I don’t have any more, the lightened style which are the more common seen around and now the EVO, the EVO is slimmed down and has a smaller body cross section

Which would seem to indicate a weight savings over the previous model but

Oddly enough isn’t the case! It still seems to be a better “design” and has better hose location more like the MK 17EVO than the older style 11 or 17. The weight difference was unexpected , only an oz but still surprised enough to check it several times

The yoke weight is the same for either.

I’m making this 11 EVO my primary reg, putting the 17’s away for a while, likely to offer the 19 for sale, older 11 will be the back up because why not.

Just because of the weight difference or is there something else? I don't understand you.

to see if I will want to try the new 17 when it comes out.

Just admit it, you are going to want to try it when it comes out no matter what. :)

I do now want to get the new mk17 Evo with s620Ti and the MK11 Evo with C370. Will use both when traveling, mk17 as main and the 11 back up.

The Mark 11 and Mark 17 non-Evo versions have always had somewhat odd hose outputs. I am okay with the Mark 11 as it is and will not be upgrading. Unless they bring it out in titanium. Glad to see Scubapro making some useful improvements.

I can always sneak one more pound in my pocket when they weigh my carry-on. And if you're leg heavy, even with neutral fins, that extra pound up high is great for trim when you're not in a drysuit. Mk19EVO for me. Jes' sayin.
As for Scubapro's "new" lineup, they're just rearranging parts. Mk11EVO body, Mk17/19 env. seal: "new" Mk17EVO2.
I'm increasingly convinced that Scubapro's days of true innovation are fading.

I don’t know how much innovation is left, I’m ok with improvements like hose routing and really ok with having a floppy swivel to deal with ;)

I’ll wait to see what they do with the 17 but for now the 11 looks like all I need.
