we run for one week till the 12th DEC
 
Who are you polling? Singles as well as non-singles? Or just singles?
 
sometimes you can be too close to an issue

the mods fear of a singles forum is unfounded

if traffic goes up then appoint more mods (wreck wench?)

but traffic won't go up because this is a limited forum

the family thing: kids won't be reviewing sinles threads b/c if kids want to see some racy stuff they'll find it easy enuf on the net without reading through boring singles thread

By having a mod "vote" on this issue has caused more attention than if they had just started a singles forum

then it just would have went away
 
I don't vote in polls, but I think the idea of restricting all singles posts to a single thread is ridiculous. We should have an entire forum with the ability to start multiple threads, just like in any other forum.
 
Why is there a need for a singles forum?

What wil lbe said in there, racy sex related discussions about positions at depth? The fact that this is a fmaily board shouldn't matter, I have no children now, but I do read this board at work from time to time and I don't want questionable material popping up on my screen.

My vote is currently no.

If you want to get together as singles, then post singles activities. Make it clear that the get-together is for singles only, and that couples are respectfully requested not to join in because it might be awkward. I can live with that, as a non-single person myself.

No. That type of post would be inappropriate and should be deleted.
 
I find this idea ridiculous (and yes, I am single). For goodness sake- everhear of meeting your married friend's husband's best friend? If you think you might want to talk to someone- send 'em an IM. I think the idea of a segregated singles forum is terrible- it's not leprousy :)!
 
I'm with you Wendy and chickdiver... its a poor form of segregation. There are no issues a single diver will have that is any different than will occur or can be discussed in any other forum already created.
