GOG above posted the reason modern science gives for the correlation between meat and brain development,to go against that evolution seams counter intuitive.If I want to evolve a smaller brain and less cognitive ability in my progeny then I'll start eating vegan.

If one believes this theory that human brains only became as highly developed as they did because humans derived energy from eating meat (and more specifically, cooked meat), then one should not miss the irony in the theory that our highly developed brains are what now allow us the luxury of choosing not to eat meat.
 
I don't see irony.I see a stretch trying to justify a personal decision.How a person interacts with the environment is largely a personal choice as long as what the do is legal.I don't shell unless I plan on eating the critter others do.I don't collect rock or tropical,others do.I don't relate eating vegan to any higher enlightenment,it is indeed a luxury or in my case,a hardship.
