Hello folks,

Having a bit of trouble with two regs here in Bonaire.
We are using an adapter for DIN->Yoke which was bought at an LDS. This adapter has worked flawlessly until now.

We recently had both the regs serviced (just prior to leaving for Bonaire)- and now they are leaking tiny amounts of air once connected to the tank.

This is happening with many different tanks. It's basically an audible hiss if you get up close, and a constant stream of tiny bubbles emerging from the first stage underwater.

Is this cause for any worry? The regs are breathing great, and we don't really seem to be loosing any considerable amount of air.

Thanks,
Nick

I would replace the o-ring on the Din connection, and have your LDS double check the Din to first stage connection, this should take care of leaking air on your equipment. If you are still getting air leak when connecting to a yoke valve, then the tank o-ring should be replaced.

Can you describe exactly where the leak is coming from? If you attach the regs to tanks and then submerge them in dunk tanks, you should be able to see exactly where the bubbles are coming from. If they're coming from where the DIN/yoke adapter meets the tank valve, it means that there's something wrong with the mating surface on the yoke adapter or all the tank o-rings are faulty. (that's pretty unlikely) If it's where the adapter meets the reg, the problem is almost certainly with the o-rings on the DIN post. If it's somewhere else on the first stage, it means the person that rebuilt them did a boo-boo. Imagine that?

There's got to be someone on Bonaire that knows how to fix this. If it's a problem between the adapter and the tank valve, you might at least ask about getting some DIN tanks. Who knows, you might luck out. At least try to find a DIN tank to try the regs on without the adapter just to see if it still leaks.
