LDS Dive Trip

My LDS trip looks nearly the same, but was for $2069 / diver. However, the flyer specfically states "Includes airfare".

Here is a copy from our trip:

For only 2069 / diver, your trip includes:
• 8 days / 7 nights at Buddy Dive Resort featuring 2 bedroom
condos (each bedroom is double occupancy and has it’s
own private bath). Each condo features shared living spaces.
• Roundtrip airfare from St. Louis to Bonaire
• 7 days of car rental per condo
• Daily Breakfast
• Unlimited shore diving, tanks & weights
• Pre Trip & Post Trip Parties
• Airport Transfers & Bonaire Government Taxes
• Fully escorted by *LDS* Staff

Later on there is a section that states specifically what is NOT included:

Not Included All meals not specifically listed, park fee, departure tax, equipment rentals other than
tanks & weights, specialty courses, nitrox fills, tips, travel insurance and spending
money.

It is prudent to check these packages as compared to what you could do own your own...

Here is the ad that was on the LDS web page. I put XXXX's in place of their name
I don't see anywhere in here that says airfare. You can go to the Buddy Dive Resort website and look under rates and compare. I am planning on going to the LDS next saturday to buy some things so I will ask them more about this trip.
To answer other questions, my wife and are newly certified, only 20 dives so far. We have dove locally with this dive shop but not enough to really know other divers yet. Half of our dives were done in Cozumel this past fall, and we will be back down there this May to do our AOW.

OK... I called the dive shop you had XXXX'd out above.
They were real nice and even went and double checked on it including airfare.


It includes airfare out Chicago O'Hare.

Not a bad deal for $1399 since it includes 6 boat dives, a rental truck, and Airfare.

The price direct with the resort does not include air. hence the $600 difference.

Mentioning departure tax not included does imply airfare is included, and they just didn't list it. Since it's an airport thing, and it's typical not to include it when you have to pay it personally on the spot. Ask.

Does the LDS trip include airfair, ground transfers, car rental? After you investigate a little further, you should directly ask the LDS trip organizer to see what the answer is.

Then let us know!!

It wasn't hard to figure out, and so then I just called them.

It's not uncommon for the departure tax to not be included as it's collected at the airport by the airport.

Also, the marine park fee is typical not to be included as you get the tag when you get there.

I checked with the LDS and one thing that's not listed is that we apparently are also getting unlimited boat diving (possibly free upgrade to Nitrox, but they are checking on that).

Free upgrade to Nitrox is worth $10-$15 per tank. Multiply by 20 dives, and thats a really good deal!
