Anyone going to participate in the 'workshop' skills update @ FRP on the 28th? I've emailed LDC to ask about registration, but they have not responded. I'm ready to get wet again..... but hope the vis is better than a few weeks ago.

What' the latest on vis? Lots of rain this spring, I guess, was the culprit for black vis last time.

Whats FRP? I have not talked to anyone at LDC in years, I have been using KDH. They are planning a dive trip to bon terre in the next month or so.

Falling Rock Park - Joe's place.

Oh, man I was just there last week and the Vis sucked. I also kinda pissed Joe off cause I told him about the ending of the movie Open Water even though I hadn't seen it. I just told him I thought it was bad for the diving industry. He didn't know it was the story behind the couple who disapeared in Australia. Everything after they get in the water is fiction.

We have to go back again as I am working on my DM classes at KDH. I am not looking forward to it as I hate turbid water. I had trouble seeing my buddies when they were behind me, lost them once and had to do the lost buddy drill. I did see a BIG catfish though.

... I'd hoped that the sun would come out, spare the rain, for about a week or so & the water could clear up. Maybe Louisville Dive should change their workshop from UW Navigation to Search and Recovery.....

When I was there a couple of weeks ago, if I wasn't litterally 'touching' my buddie, I'd lose him quickly. On the north wall, it was a little better, but not much.

(BTW, Joe's got a good memory for faces.... but, really, it's been YEARS since anyone disappeared at the quarry)

Don't count on the viz improving much unless the weather gets really hot for several days. The only other option is to wait until it gets really cold for a couple of weeks.

Low viz is really good for learning to use the compass well and to practice maintaining depth with no substantial visual clues.

Yea, the water is perfect for a Nav course.....you can't cheat. :D

On the way to Louisville airport this past Sunday, the wife and I stopped off so she could see first hand the beautiful diving conditions offered at Fallinf Rock :11ztongue

Talked with Joe and watched a few divers mucking things up. Water temp was 83 at 10 ffw, and viz appeared to be about 10 to 15 ffw, except in the shallows where divers were kicking up the mud pretty good.

I will most likely be the Instructor for the workshop on 8/28. I apologize for it taking so long for us to get back to you. We've been trying to keep up but some e-mails do slip through the cracks. The best thing to do would be to call the store and have us put your name in the books you can reach us at (502)368-8427

Lately for pleasure diving I've been going up to Blue Springs where the viz has been a whole lot better. Nice change of scenery too.

That would be the pile of bones stuffed in the commode I believe
