Well, I got a couple of dives in at the local quarry. But, I'm headed off for back surgery tomorrow and will not be able to lift tanks for at least eight weeks. But, after that I'm hoping to be good to go for ST100s and back at it!

Have fun all!

Hope it all works out! (and you're diving again soon!)

Good luck!

L5-S1. Stenosis, herniated disk, and degenerative arthritis. (Old age is a *****!) It'll just be a simple decompression and the surgeon expects I'll be hefting double steel 100s in a couple of months or so.

Thanks to all for the well wishes!

Sharkey...One more question...Aside from back pain...What were other symptoms. Are there any times when you feel like bone is kind of rubbing together when you sit or turn. That's happening to me now. Too many years of football, basketball, snow skiing, surfing and toting cylinders...But my ain't it fun...I would be really interested to know how you do with the surgery...

Actually, I don't get back pain. I get sciatica...pain radiating from the hip down through the leg. On really bad days, I get a bit of numbness or tingling in the toes. It is all brought on by standing, walking, or lifting. Your symptoms sound very different. I'd try talking to a good orthopaedist to get an evaluation. Or, you can try a pain management specialist, which is how I started. One will steer you toward a knife. The other is non-invasive.

Drop me a line in a couple of weeks and I'll be glad to fill you in on the results.

Will do...Once again I wish you the best...
