I will be in Vegas in August and my brother, who is new to diving, will be meeting me there. I thought we might try diving Lake Mead. I am looking for current conditions and any recommendations. We will also need to get fills, so any suggestions on that would also help. We are interested in shore dives to help my brother get comfortable diving. He got his OW last year and has not done any diving since.

Thanks.

If you check out Las Vegas Divers.com, the group is much more active then on here from what ive seen.

There are usually no currents in the lake, unless you get too close to any of the intakes :)

Lake Mojave has a nice spot with a school bus, panel van, and cabin cruiser underwater. They also only fluctuate 10ft in their water levels. Even the local divers do not know where we will be diving come august. The lake is projected to drop even lower this summer.

Thanks for your response. I went to lasvegasdivers.com and they wanted you to register just to look at postings. It seems silly, since this is a one time thing.
