beautiful calm morning at Lanai Lookout..
surf 0-1' with light kona winds.
first things first.. recon the exit before getting in.
ensure you are confident of a safe exit.
rule of thumb..
if you can see the boulders at the bottom of the channel..
exit should be good..
first dive..
went left from the primary entry.
kicked east toward blowhole.. 'til 2500 psi.
explored the live coral slope around the corner.
lots of cauliflower and soft leather coral..
plus, saw this zebra out free-swimming..
after the turn and back thru the giant archway under the entry..
large school of butterflies circled the wall..
and another school skimmed the crystal waters above..
then found a couple blue-dragons gettin' it on..
and a banded coral shrimp defending his puka..
second dive..
entered at the exit..
and finned west toward hanauma..
swam out the long dark cavern adjacent the exit channel..
and saw the resident 4' cusk eels with huge craniums..
and a red reef lobster hiding under a rock..
back along the 50 foot wall..
a devil scorpion at the corner at 55fsw..
forgot they have very colorful fins when they're swimming..
spied a couple tiger cowries..
then realized this very tricky tako..
finally.. a large cabbage sized bright yellow frogfish..
mahalo for viewing..
