Hi All:
Well, Bobby (RAD Diver), Dane (Pook 60) and I made it up to Rawlings this weekend for a little R&R. Bill McDermott from Outer banks Dive Center and his class of open water students also came, a group of about 15 in all.
Rawlings was pretty nice, hardly anyone there. We stayed in a cabin (VERY nice!) and had campfires on both Friday and Saturday nights. Air temp on Friday night got down to 19 degrees (-7 C) so it was a little nippy... (Bobby's drysuit was frozen solid the next morning, LOL).
Rawlings water was pretty clear, about 20 FT of horizontal viz, probably 40+ of vertical. Lake temperature was 62 degrees (17 C) top to bottom, NO thermocline. Air temps during the day were in the 50s.
All-in-all we did about 6 dives, including a night dive. I had a great time diving with Bobby and Dane (thanks for the other post Dane!)
This was the first time I used my new video camera in the water and my "mission" was to get used to the buoyancy of the kit and play around with the white balance. For what it's worth, I've attached the results... Needless to say, I have more work to do (keep in mind, the You-Tube quality is MUCH less than what it actually looks like!), LOL...
