Some of us are heading to Lake Rawlings on March 19, which i think is the opening day of the season for Rawlings (seems like Jason mentioned that in another thread). If anyone is interested in joining us post a reply and I'll give more details as far as where we can set up at the lake.

Does anyone have any idea what the water temp will be?

Mel

Come on now, who's ready to go brave the cold with us!

Friggincold!

Mel, it was around 46 last weekend. (There were two open water classes there, too!) Sorry I'll miss y'all. I will be at Rawlings the next day, on Sunday, March 20. Lots of firewood around back, and when the sun comes out you can pretend its warmer! Have fun,

Doc

46 degrees!! No way!!

I'll see you guys in two weeks, :monkeydan

I thought it would be about that cold this time of year. I think I'll be fine with the 7mil. I did a New Years Day dive wet in that kind of temp and was okay. I may not be diving all day, but hopefully will be brave enough to get two dives in. :D So what was the vis like? This will be my first dive out at Rawlings.

Yep, I think it was 47 degrees on that New Years Day dive Mel. I've got to get me some thicker gloves. Yea, how was the vis at Lake Rawlings (anyone).

around 40feet, my last dive on Feb.27.2005. It was windy outside so I felt much wammer in the water. I hope you can enjoy the dives.

It was most excellent, somewhere between 40-50' last Saturday. Heck if you guys decide to drive up on Sunday instead of Saturday, I'll cook you a cheeseburger and you can eat it by the humongus fire we'll have going! (We may have to do a sun dance, though, regardless of which day we wind up there.) Just bring a windbreaker and a funky hat and you'll survive the trip regardless!

Better get those thicker booties also, Mel. Jason - I GOTTA get some thicker gloves! You'un's have fun Saturday/Sunday!
