Are you thinking you might find a more... um... appropriate type of group on the far side of the river? Or maybe there weren't any more signs for you after handing them out to Alan and Frank.

Wish I could go. Have fun!

We'll be out there, but on at least one of our dives, I'll be spending some time working on bouyancy, and maybe some mask stuff at the platform.

If you don't mind that kind of boring stuff, you're welcome to come and dive with us! We're planning on being there around 8:30 to start setting up.

Sorry, no brownies though! I did pick up some banana split oreo's at the store though.:D

That's just great Rhonda! I think I am showing up not so promptly at 900am.
Should have at least one more diver showing up. I am trying to finalize plans now. Don't wait for me though. These plans are always subject to change.

richsero, we didn't see you out there!

Diving was great, vis was great, temps were great!

Saw lots of fish today. Saw a pretty big black catfish on both dives, might've been the same one both times, I don't know. Saw a HUUUUUUGE catfish down at the platform. He was at least two feet long. Saw a boat down there today, I don't think we've found before. Saw a mattress I KNOW we didn't see before.:shakehead:

Vis was about 10 feet in most places, it got worse in pockets, but was great most of the time. No classes out today, just a few other divers.

Tom, help me out with these cats. I'm thinking flathead, since their snouts were very flat, but their coloring was very interesting. Almost "marbled" with black and brown. Most of the catfish I have seen were pretty much all grey, or white.

I missed out on spotting another freshwater jellie. I'm a man on a mission though. I'm going to find some more before too long. I was trying to work with Rhonda on "going verticle", showing her that in alot of situations, head down, feet up is the only way to get a good angle and look under crevices with your flashlight. I'm not sure how many she saw, but there are a whole lot of hiding crawdads in Murray. It's cool to peek down into their hidey holes to see them peering back out at ya. The trek along the west wall in between all those rocks are excellent spots for spying on a bunch of hiding critters.

Great day of diving. We missed Richerso, but talked to a few divers from the "dirty water dive society". I think they are out of Ok city.

I'm ready to go back to Murray.

If the tail has a shallow vee, they are channel cats. The only one I've seen up there was a channel cat of about 24". I don't have nearly the experience up there that a lot of you have, though.

PS - Regarding the whereabouts of Richerso, my money is on "John was out playing too late and was too tired to do any diving today." followed closely by "Ow my head!" and "Did anyone get the name of that truck?". Bringing up the rear and trailing badly is "I had to visit my sick aunt in the hospital".

PPS - I like the name Dirty Water Dive Society! They must be alright guys, for Okies...

The motteling sounds like a flathead but the tail is the biggest identifyer. If it was a fairly deep V it's a channel, if it was straight or really close to it, it was a flathead.

The really nice thing about it, is in Oklahoma they are legal to hunt. (With a proper liscence of course)
