Hi,

I'll be in Lahaina at the end of March for a few days for a wedding and wanted to fit in 1-2 days of diving.

Can anyone recommend a good dive operator out of Lahaina? Would prefer small operator catering to more serious divers vs. cattle car/beginners.

Also, how's the diving in this area?

Thanks!

Extended Horizons to Lanai should be a good choice for you. They take about 12 divers in their 32' aluminum boat and although they don't cater to "more serious" divers, I'd venture to stay that a lot of "more serious" divers go with them over Lahaina Divers.

However, if you want to go to Molokini or any of the S. Maui sites, you'll need to drive to the Kihei boat ramp (45 minute drive at 5:30am) to find the kind of operator you describe. Since you'll only have a couple of days of diving, if you could dive on Tuesday or Friday you could go with Ed Robinson's on their 3-tank charter which is specifically gear toward the more advanced diver.
