just called laguna seasports and the beaches are closed to diving due to 6' swells, we were going to try a couple of night dives at shaws but oh well, does anyone know of better conditions anywhere else??

You might check Malaga Cove. I believe the high surf is due to a south swell, and Malaga is north facing.

yeah that was another option,I just dont know if I want to drive an hour+ and not have any idea what conditions might be there

Just returned from Italian Gardens, Ship Rock and Twin Rocks. 60 foot vis, fairly calm, warm... but almost got skunked on the bass at I.G. OK, no bass at I.G.? What could possibly be around to scare them off? Hmmm... what's their #1 predator. Oh, it's just another dive boat with divers mucking up the water. Whew!
