Lagos and Albufeira Dives in May 07

Hello Folks,

I have diving reservations in Lagos and Albufeira, Portugal for mid-May 2007. Just wondering, of the several locations mentioned as possible destinations from these ports, what would be the most desirable for me.

I am a "vacation diver" with less than 50 dives to my name, certified to just 120 feet. I prefer plantlife and wildlife to wrecks or caves (not enough experience, I suspect, for the latter 2).

Anyone out there dived off of Lagos and Albufeira fairly recently? Any recommendations for diving sites would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Board! I haven't been diving in Portugal yet, but I have been there a few times. We're planning a return trip in the next couple of years. Make sure you post a dive report after your trip.

Hi!
I've only been diving around Faro but I've snorkelled in Albufeira end Lagos and usually there was plenty of life. Probably more in Lagos. There are some artificial reefs in Algarve and the diving centre in Faro takes divers there but I don't know if the others do that as well. But if you say you already have the dives booked just tell them your preferences and ask them to take you somewhere to see marine life.
