All along the southern coastline, from East to West (but mostly West) there are amazing yet secluded beaches that are perfect for diving and snorkeling. The extreme East/West locations plus North side should be avoided due to iron shore entries/exits plus unknown currents.
The San Juan area... is a great example of secluded beaches ideal for diving and snorkeling!
Hope this helps...
Kharon, what is your preferred departure airport? I know NYC is out for you (we get nonstop flights out of NYC to CUR for under $400. I see Burlington to CUR $513 or so on JB.
. Look on Jet Blue. Flights Wed/Wed usually cheaper than Sat - Sat. They are running a sale now on CUR and saw $309 Wed-Wed last week in May. Their lowest rate does not include checked bag. With a checked bag it is around $350.As to your $400 direct flights out of NYC??? I can't find them
These are the areas (inside the breakwater wall that I'm curious about. Are they deep enough to snorkel/dive?

Unfortunately, the top 2 maps are from Eastpoint which is private property and only accessible by boat. Certainly suitable for diving, but be aware that due to the lack of moorings in these areas, all diving is drift diving and not suitable for snorkeling due to the heavy surge. The upside with Eastpoint (Oospunt) is the reef is incredibly healthy and from a scientific perspective, researchers have described this area as one of the last pristine habitats in the Caribbean!
On the other hand, the last/bottom picture is the area around Fuikbaai. Once again only accessible by boat and not really familiar with any one snorkeling this area... but the diving is awesome!
Hope this answers your questions! If not, please let me know!! Always happy to help!!
