It is easily one of the most picturesque places in all of Central America. With unsurpassed amounts of fresh water and local fishing, it’s no wonder the families in this area date back to the pre classic period.

The worst thing about articles like this one, and the Yucatan one, are that, like the second margarita, they give me bad ideas. The thought of getting to dive somewhere nobody had checked out is SO seductive . . . even if it meant putting in only 25 feet of line, it would be MY line!
