KubI:
+ small, doesn't cover all your wrist
+ unbreakable
- can get off underwater
- fitting Showa's quite tricky
SmartGloves:
+ unbreakable
+ does not get off underwater
- bulky
- lubricate them every dive otherwise might get out of the sleave when donning
- difficult to see if it is correctly fitted
- fitting Showa's quite tricky
Good info thanks :)

On a Santi. Glued in. Sometimes when juggling with stages and scooter it pops off. And indeed, you should leave a little extra room on the glove. I prefer the Kubi's above the Santi system. The Santi system is very sensitive to good mounting. But once on, they never get off.
Thanks for the info :)

I've used Kubis, Rolock, and have had buddies who use Santi. For ease of donning and doffing, I think the Waterproof Ultimas are actually my fave. Also have not had a leak, in contrast to others where they feel a bit finicky.

FWIW, from a comfort and dexterity standpoint I prefer the heavyweight latex gloves. Hella easier to mount on Kubi rings than the smurf gloves. The stretchiness means I can wear two undergloves if I want, and/or stuff in a heating pad. Drawback to this is that I have to go up a size to do this, and this usually means there's about half an inch of empty material at the end of my fingers to get caught in my bolt snaps. Plus, being latex, they start going tacky after a year, year and a half, and at $80 (Cdn) a pop, it tends to add up.

The other option that's worked for me is the Showa 720s. Much cheaper than the heavyweight latex from Santi, Kubi, or FE. Nitrile, so tough and durable AF, plus I've found that the size 10 XLs fit just about perfectly over my Smartwool glove liners. No cost to dexterity, but if I'm diving in Lake Ontario in the winter, it's just not enough thermal protection. I've tried heating pads, but they only help for a short time. Adding another glove liner layer would also mean going up a size, and then there's a cost in dexterity because of the nitrile material (not as stretchy as latex, so it cuts both ways) and the extra length at the end of the fingers to get caught in my bolt snaps.

YMMV.
