Diver dies in waters off Kualoa Regional Park

A diver missing in waters off Kualoa Regional Park Saturday evening was found and pronounced dead at the scene.

Honolulu fire crews conducted search by land and air following a call for a male diver in his 60s who was reported missing around 7:18 p.m.

Two engine companies, a helicopter, a water rescue crew and a battalion chief were involved in the search efforts.

The unresponsive diver was eventually found by a private-party watercraft and met with fire crews who then conducted CPR in attempts to revive him.

The exact time of when the diver was found is unknown at this time.

Drowning has been reported as a possible cause for the diver’s death.
