Great write up. Thanks. I have a non-diving question (or 2) for you though.

How are things going with the latest Kilauea eruption? It was all over the news in the spring, but then it seemed that it was "OBE" (overcome by events). Is it still erupting like it was in the spring or has it settled down to its normal levels and did you get out to see it?

(One of my goals is to photograph the Milky Way over the lava field.)
 
According to the HVO status reports that I've been getting it fizzled out a couple of weeks ago and the air is the cleanest it's been in years. Recently there has been some activity in Alaska with two or three different volcanoes.
