I am considering a liveaboard Komodo trip this September. There are no new postings on this subject. I would appreciate feedback from any recent travelers. Thanks.

Excellent shots, very well done. How was the boat? and the service? Any photos of the boat and your stay above water. Looks like I will be there in mid-August, not on a liveboard though. How was the water temp.? what did you wear for a wet suit or skin?

5mm at least!
Komodo, ave. 25-27c
if you are going to dive in Nusa Penida when you are in Bali,
22-26c, last time I dived there in aug. 17c!!!!

Thanks much for your response. I will check out Kararu. Great photographs too. What more can you add about the boat and itinerary?

Our trip was from Flores back to Bali through Komodo. We originally flew into Bali and then caught a short flight to Flores to meet the boat. We then travelled back westward, ending up in Bali. Most of the water was warm (about 80 degrees) but the Komodo area was much cooler. Cannibal rock was warmer than usual but was still in the low 70s. The boat was very comfortable with good meals and a great staff. I would not hesitate at all to recommend the operation to anyone or to go back myself any time.

Hi Doug, very nice photos, thanks for posting them. Did you do the whole trip on open circuit? Where was the Manta squadron photo taken? First guess is Batu Tiga, second Manta Alley, third Landing Strip. Am I close? -Andy

Thanks for your advice regarding Kararu. We are booked on the Cheng Ho Bima/Komodo the second week of September. I will post a report when we return.

Kneepton,
You will not be dissapointed with KARARU and ChengHo.
It's very nice boat if not one of the Nicest LOB boat in Indonesia.
And Kararu is also one of the best foreign operator here in Indonesia water.

I've been with the boat Kararu used for many times, (not operated by Kararu at that time) and it blows away the other competitors' boats.

Don't forget to ask the captain to put the sail up for picture taking around Rinca, it's BEAUTIFULL!!

Have fun!
Acuan.
