Silent Running --

Yes, I did the whole trip on open circuit. They didn't have pure O2 on board (just a membrane system for nitrox) and sodasorb wasn't available. Apparently they are considering becoming "rebreather-friendly" but they're not there yet. Besides, everyone else was open circuit and the diving was recreational, no deco so a lot of the benefit would have been lost.

As for the manta squadron, I don't remember the site offhand. I'll have to check my logbook.

Kneepton,
You will not be dissapointed with KARARU and ChengHo.
It's very nice boat if not one of the Nicest LOB boat in Indonesia.
And Kararu is also one of the best foreign operator here in Indonesia water.

I've been with the boat Kararu used for many times, (not operated by Kararu at that time) and it blows away the other competitors' boats.

Don't forget to ask the captain to put the sail up for picture taking around Rinca, it's BEAUTIFULL!!

Have fun!
Acuan.
Thanks for your feedback on the Cheng Ho. We will be in Sanur for a few days before our Komodo trip. I understand we might catch a mola mola sighting this time of year. Do you have any recommendations for operators easily accessible to Sanur?

I am in the planning process for Indonesia and the Cheng Ho is one of the options I am looking at. How many dives per day did you get to do?

Thanks!

acj,
You need to inquire this to your dive operator, which is Kararu.
As i stated before, I used the ChengHo (Seasafari V) and Seasafari III, but at that time i private-chartered them myself, not with Kararu.

Common number of dive time would be 3-4 dives a day.

Cheers,
Acuan.
