As I was about to pull the trigger this week on buying a new Scubapro Knighthawk bc is was pointed out to me I should look at their new Seahawk bc. It seems to be a lot like the Knighthawk but some feel it may be even a little better.

I know it's a fairly new product but was wondering if anyone out there has tried it out and their thoughts on it. Even if you haven't tried it out but have seen it and know something about it I'd love to hear from you. Maybe a dealer or two could chime in.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

I dive a Knighthawk and have been very happy with it, but I did check out the Seahawk at Beneath the Sea this Year, and I liked it more than my Knighthawk. Obviously, since I just tried it on, not dove it, my opinion is far from complete, but it felt at least as comfortable, and seemed noticeably slimmer, without the bulk around the ditchable weight pockets of the Knighthawk. Also, the pockets on the Seahawk seemed to hit a nice balance between compactness and utility (unlike the stowable mesh pocket on the Knighthawk, which I don't really like). I also tried the Lighthawk, which I really liked and which might be my next BC, but between the Seahawk and the Knighthawk, I'd choose the Seahawk. Of course, I'd recommend you try to find a shop where you can try both out, preferably in the water, so you can make an informed decision.

Good luck,
Colin

They look very similar. I know the KnightHawk very well, and love it. I know the KnightHawk can be used for doubles (it’s not a plate, but damn close), not sure about the SeaHawk. Might be a consideration?!?

I think the backplate of the Seahawk is the same as the Knighthawk but someone would have to confirm that for me so it should take doubles.

Well I went ahead and ordered me a Seahawk so I'll report back on how I like it when I return from Little Cayman next month. :D

Are you done with your trip yet? I'd love to hear your review on the Seahawk! My instructor was diving with one and said he loved it and highly recommended I purchase one for my first BC. I know its pretty pricey compared to some of the other BC's out there, but it sounds like it may be well worth it. Let me know.

Yes. Had a great trip and loved the Seahawk! What I really liked about it was the pockets are nice and large if you need to put something in them and are easy to get to. It also has three d-rings/clips on each side so it gave me the perfect place to clip my white slate for my video rig. I also felt I had a little more freedom of movement up front with the back inflate. I also hardly noticed at all the whole thing about a back inflate pushing your face forward into the water. It doesn't hold you at the surface the same as the jacket style but I had no problem with how it felt and performed at the surface.

This was my first back inflate and was trying to decide between the Knighthawk and Seahawk but am glad I bought the Seahawk. I don't think you will be disappointed. I also got it with the AIR II. Wouldn't have it any other way.

I don't think so regarding doubles for the Knighthawk (or the Seahawk).

I dive a Knighthawk and love it and i feel that only backdraw ist the lack of pockets what sometimes would be nice to have them, especially as Instructor.
The Seahawk has them what is a nice feature, for the rest it looks pretty the same.
But for telling the truth, i dive here a Zeagle Ranger with pockets and usually they are empty.....
I may be too used to have everything hanging on a d-ring as i have 3 wings and only 1 with pockets....
