I joined up this week and got straight into the photography forums (such a fantastic resource) then discovered you should introduce yourself first.
I started diving 11 years ago at age 44 back home in New Zealand and only wish I had done it decades earlier. I logged 150 odd dives around NZ, Fiji and Australia over the following 5 years including three magical 5 day trips in Fiordland on a live aboard .... where my sign in name comes from.

And a couple of trips to Fiji

For the past 6 years I have been stuck in England without my scuba gear so my diving has been limited to to trips back home. Before anyone asks, yes, I know there is good diving in Europe but it was a promise I made to my wife when she was seconded here for a "two year" assignment. We are heading back to NZ in January and I am upgrading my photographic gear to get back into the water which is how I found SB. I had an Oly 5050z with Oly housing which died twice with what I now know was a known capacitor fault. The second time the store refused to repair it. Thanks to the excellent advice gleaned from members I am picking up an Oly EPL2 kit next week in the US.
Even more exciting is the wish of my 14 year old son to do his OW when we get back. I am sure we will be posting some pics early next year.
Cheers
Graeme
