I've been diving the KISS GEM rebreather since the first production rolled off the line a couple years ago. I just bought the KISS GEM Sidekick (the new sidemount version of the GEM) and am learning the differences in diving this versus the original GEM. I have also decided it's time to start teaching the KISS GEM so I've scheduled to do my KISS GEM instructor training with Doug Ebersole/debersole.

The class will be on January 12 and 13 at Orange Grove sink in Wes Skiles Peacock Springs State Park in Luraville. I already have a student but having another student or two would be helpful for the learning process. If you are interested in buying a KISS GEM let me know in the next couple weeks by emailing me at chipoladivers@gmail.com and I can get one ordered for you. If you just want to learn the GEM but aren't ready to make the big rebreather purchase yet I can probably get a demo unit or two for the class for you to rent. If you rent for the class and decide to buy one after the class the rental fee will be deducted from the price of a new unit. We will have various KISS rebreathers available during the class including the original KISS GEM, which students will be learning on, the KISS GEM Sidekick, and the KISS Spirit CCR. Contact me for further details (class fees, rental fees, new unit price, etc.) Looking forward to hearing from you.

Tell Doug I said hi, I'll be taking my Meg class last week of January up here. I just got my packable scrubber for the GEM in yesterday and diving it this weekend.

Out of curiosity what was the class price with no rental? I'm thinking about a GEM.

GEM classes run about $500 -- depending on the instructor, location, dive fees, etc. It is usually a three day course.
