Hey everyone, just curious if anyone here has been in Kingsley Lake. My dive buddy and I went there on the 29th and had a nice time. The water wat 60* @ 20', so it was a bit nipply. Other than that, it was alright. We found an old 70's VOIT dive mask at the bottom there. I heard there was a set of bass boats stacked down somewhere in there too. A local dive shop also told us about the navigation course they used to use. They set rebar in the ground with line and did the nav. cert there before they closed it down to the public. My dive buddy is in the Airforce Guard and works at Nadep. We still have access!!! :D
Just curious if anyone knows what else is in there. We're gonna go back soon. I just got a new BC that I wanna try out, plus I wanna find that trench in there. Supposed to be about 100'. We'll see!

yeh I've always wondered what was in that lake, I used to go to Stricklands when I was a kid, fun place. Now its sold off, another beautiful piece of Florida that's now closed to the public. Sooner or later this whole state will be one big condo. Oh well. What part of the lake gets to 100'? I bet there's a few springs in there too judging by the water clarity, it would be neat to find some of those springs.

From what I've read, the above sea level lake IS spring fed. But, its fed through the soft sand, so its not likely you'll find the actual spring(s). The lake is a sink hole actually, so its really getting deeper and deeper. Clarity in the area we dove was about 20' Not too bad, but it was getting dark with that sun going down. I've got schematics of where the trench is located, but it'd probably be easiest to get a depth finder out there. We shore dove this first time, and plan on takin the boat next time. All in all, not a bad place to mess around. I just got my Zeagle Ranger in the mail, so I know where I'll be trying out my new setup! haha

I have never dove it but I would be interested in giving it a shot. When are you planning your test run of the new BC. I have a new semi dry suit on order that needs to get wet.

No clue when we're going next, work schedules are conflicting right now. I'll keep you in mind and give you a heads up next outting!
