I over heard two diver talking about a site in Mass called the King Philip's abyss.
Any one hear on the board dive it or know where it is. The divers wouldnt tell me where it was. They said it was thier secret spot.

Why are they keeping King Philip's Abyss a secret? Judging by the articles Reefseal posted, there is nothing there worth taking, and a 125' lightless site with entanglement risk is not going to get exactly overcrowded even if it becomes a common knowledge.

Probably to discourage inexperienced divers from diving? (Sort of cavern, w/ overhead) Definately for someone with advanced skills.. Still, seems kind of adventurous to dive.

I live in Western Mass, about 45 minutes from the site. It sounds like it would be a great dive if done properly.

It's apparently "loaded" with flora and fauna that the biologists, etc. want to study before joe-diver trashes the joint in search of adventure.

Man, I could probably be convinced to drive south. FRESH WATER ... no need to rinse gear :eyebrow: :dazzler1:

Do I hear road trip? Definately not a shore dive. Who do we know that hasn't sealed their boat for season that we can get us out there? (one with depth finder)

see ya tonight at UDNH Banquet for Bernie Chowdhury presentation.

Luis

p.s. anyone interested, still tickets available. In Manchester, NH. Bernie is author of the Last dive.
