Stogie1020 once bubbled...
[, I was hoping some of you could give me the scoop on NON diving activities, like the good bars/restaurants/sites to see. I read a Fodor's guide book, but had a hard time telling what was worthwhile and what wasn't. . [/B]
As far as restaurants:
Mrs Mac's has a great breakfast
Hobo's is good. I love the baked brie sandwich.
The FishHouse is good but over-priced and can be crowded
The Buzzard's Roost has good food and a nice atmosphere. It's a bit farther north than most "attractions" in Key Largo, but still worth the short drive.
Frank Keys Cafe is good, but a bit more dressy than other places and of course is quite spendy. The chocolate soufflee is to die for.
The Italian Fisherman has ok food, but a nice sunset view.
As far as non-diving activites:
Dolphins Plus has a nice program
There places you can rent kayaks or learn how to sail. Rick's Place used to have sailing lessons, I'm not sure if they still do.
Take a fishing charter.
Take the SunCruz Casino cruise. I've never been on this so I have no idea if it's worth it.
Club Cocnuts can be fun for dancing.
There's always Holiday Isle or Woody's in Islamorada.
Have fun!!!
