Is there any diving within close range to grassy key?

Not sure, but you would think so. I just moved to Guam this summer and didn't take up diving until I got here, so all the times I was in the Keys I was just a beach bum. Someone else familiar with Keys diving will have to fill you in on that. But again, you're only an hour or so from Key West and to me the drive would be worth it. Key West is way too busy for me. The Middle Keys are more like the Keys used to be before the tourists discovered them. You'll find the majority of the tourists in Key Largo and Key West. Islamorada would be my second choice after Grassy Key. But again, when I ranked vacation spots in the Keys diving wasn't factored in. Marathon is on Grassy Key right at the start of Seven Mile Bridge, you might see what kind of diving there is there. Wherever you go, hope you have a good time and a great honeymoon.

Thanks for the help so far. I'll check in to grassy key. Would ft. Lauderdale or miami still be best for flying in to if we go to grassy key?

Miami or ft. lauderdale is good for any of the keys, and there are several dive shops in marathon.
