I'll answer this part. We always buy 1 or 2 Keylime pies and eat a slice after dinner back at the hotel/place that we are staying at. ALOT of K/L restaurants don't have time to make Key Lime pie so they buy them from this place also, and have the national awards hanging on the wall too. They have the recipe down to a science, it's not too tart, not too sweet, and the crust is thick but you don't need a butcher knife to cut thru it. The pies are made on the same day they are sold and on weekends they can sell out so go early afternoon & buy 2 !!. The place is kinda hidden and down at the south part of Key Largo but before the Tavernier bridge. Cost was ~$23/whole pie, $7/slice>>>But it's worth it !!

Alright, that’s 2 for Key Lime Pie Factory!

We went to Key largo in May and dove in a 3mm and was too warm. I switched to just rash guards and was just fine. My wife also dove in her WaterLust rash guards and was just fine, even at 120+ feet (Spiegel Grove).

Yeah, I used to be that way. Would dive Key Largo in t-shirt and swim trunks in December back in the early 80’s. Now, it’s a 5 mm in 79 and 81 degrees, and wondering if a Shark Skin under it would be a good idea, lol!

My wife dives in sharkskin after she lost over 130 pounds. Diving in her WaterLust now? Water better be like over 84F! I still dive in water around 80 after I lost 80 lbs. Below that and I'm in either a 1.5mm or a 3mm. Below 72, and it's my 5mm or 7/8mm semi dry.

Wait until June to dive Key Largo. We went to Key Largo May 9th weekend to dive a couple of wrecks. Conditions were so rough our Saturday afternoon dive ended up Captains choice - French reef. Even on French reef we had 3+ foot swells and swapping tanks between dives was miserable. All dives Sunday morning were cancelled. Folks at my dive shop say they don't go to Key Largo until after Memorial Day because spring dive site conditions can be bad during spring.

I dove in a long sleeve rashguard, swim trunks and my 5 mm boots. Everyone in our group of 5 were in rash guards, no neoprene except for boots. The only people in wetsuits were the guides and a diver taking a rescue diver course. Unless you get cold very easily wetsuits in May in Key Largo will to too warm. I wear sharkskin in Florida springs (72 degree water) and most of our group wear 3 or 5 mm wetsuits in springs. Key Largo water in May can be very warm.
