I am planning a trip to Key Largo in July. Need the name of a good dive shop that can give me best satisfaction for my 18 year old son and self.

Also, that time of year would it be wise to take wetsuits? Long or shorty? or none at all?

Just need to clear up facts and be sure of what is needed before we prepare to go!

Any help is appreciated!
thanks,

Chuck

What are you really looking for?
Gear, training, or charters? Or some combination?

DiveIn is a smaller shop that has all three and are great people to work with.

Expect 81-84 degree water in July. I wear a 3mm full suit that time of year but lots of divers wear just a skin so it's really your call thermal protection.

Ocean Divers right on the Marina Del Mar Hotel property at mile marker 100. Good value and clean hotel geared to divers. Ocean Divers has good staff. Dove with them 3 times.

Most divers in June just wear a shorty. Maybe 1 people out of ten on the boat will have a 3mm full. So if you are cold natured, you'll want a full. I just wear a shorty there.
