Hi all
My cousin did the PADI classroom and pool sessions in Indiana, and is looking to do the checkout dives in Key Largo. Any recommendations for a good dive operator? I know there are a lot, so figured I should get some inputs to narrow the list!
Thank you!
Alison

No firsthand experience, but I hear Rainbow Reef is good, as the prior comment noted.

Rainbow, Quiescence, Horizon Divers are all I have used before - no complaints on any of them though can't say what is happening at Horizon Divers these days

Thank you. Those 3 seem to rank highest, with Quiessence and RR highest.

Hi, Id recommend Rainbow Reef or Sea dwellers. I recommend using an outfit on the ocean side and not the bay side. I used Quiescens on the bay side the first time and it's a LONG ride out since they have to putter down to a bridge. Wasted time. But a good outfit. These 2 places are right near a Holiday Inn and Courtyard. Haliday Inn has good packages and should be a bit cheaper. Nice pool. It's at mile marker 100. There is a great massive dive store near by Divers Direct: Gear Up at Divers Direct. The World's Largest Authorized Scuba Gear and Scuba Diving Equipment Retailer. Find Scuba Equipment, Dive Gear and Dive Equipment. World's Largest Scuba Diving Gear Shop, Largest Florida Dive Shops.

That Divers Direct in Key Largo is the Walmart for scuba equipment...and I mean that in a GOOD way :)

It is great is you are shopping for stuff and want to try on sizes and see what colors there are. It wasn't at the Key Largo store, but the DD I was at had the entire front of the store filled with bins of fins in every size, color and mfg around.

I'll add my +1 to Rainbow Reef. I've been diving with them every year since 2010, did my IDC with them years ago, and I can't think of a single criticism in all those years. The RR people work hard to keep it that way. Your cousin's checkout dives with them will be a blast.
