Capt. Slate's Atlantis Dive Center is great! I was staying in the Florida Keys for 6 days and I dove with them throughout the week! They were awesome, I have no complaints. I stayed at the Key West Inn and they had large, clean, and wonderful rooms. I am coming back down in May and I can't wait to take my children with Capt. Slates. I learned that they are one of the oldestdive operations in the Florida Keys. THEY KNOW WHAT THEIR DOING. Go with Capt. Slate's, you wont regret it! Thanks and safe diving to all, John London

I have no idea what is going on here, it seems a bit strange. I've known Slate for about thirty years and I think he runs a great operation, but why the sudden burst of incompetent seeming posts praising his operation?

A little birdie told me that his boat actually heats the water beneath it to keep all divers within a 150' radius 10*+ warmer......It's the wave of the future and has been tested in the Arctic. Test have shown that with the heat turned up the water is comfortable enough to use a 3mm shorty year round while ducking under the ice. Read more about it at Get-A-Life.com

I want so bad to post something smart assed (I love with Captain Slate and he cured my leprosy!) but the truth is that he DOES run a great operation, although I don't think his under-boat heating technology is actually in use just yet (I could be wrong). This thread went from weird to weirder fast.

FYI as of today: air temps low 70s, water temps about the same. Most of my divers did a 3 mil suit and one guy who was part polar bear or something went in a bathing suit :puppy:.
I really don't know what to make of that, but he didn't seem any worse for the wear. It took me 10 minutes to pick my jaw up off the floor when he told me. Awesome vis on the 2 shallow dives that went out (Molasses reef), full sunshine and a great day to be on the water.
