URGENT! NEED HELP!

The this morning I collected some very fresh bull kelp to make Kelp Kandy with grand children who are visiting.

Now I (we) can not locate the recipe...Any one have a copy they can post?

The kelp will remain fresh for about 24 hours so a reply ASAP would be appreciated.

Hmmm... were did you collect the bull kelp, Sam?

Dang! I thought that you had the recipe.

I got it in the ocean...I live in Cen Cal...Lots of bull kelp (Nerocystie leutkeana) in these chilly waters... very little Macrocystis up here..

By the way Macrocystis also makes great Kelp Kandy

Thanks and stay wet --keeps you young,

Dr. Sam 111

I wish I did have... I'd be sure to pass it on to you. I preferred to use the dried blades of our Macrocystis as a substitute for some of the flour when I made kelp muffins back in the 60's and 70's.

For those of you here in SoCal who have not seen bull kelp (Nereocystis), check my newspaper column here. I'm sure Sam has experienced the same thing as I lament about in the column.

I'm sorry that you didn't find the recipe in time. Perhaps you'll still post the recipe??? I'd love to try it out with some of my friends kids. Of course I'd have to use Macrocystis.

Ann Marie... try washing off blades of Macrocystis with fresh water, then air dry them to crispness. Grind them into powder and substitute it for half the flour in a recipe for muffins or various sweet breads. It worked for me, but then no one expects much from my culinary "skills."

Found recipe-not a simple task with my filing system -didn't make Kalifornia Kelp Kandy--Grand children departed for San Diego...

Call off the search..

I looked all over the internet for it, no luck. I asked my GF about a konbum ame recipe, but she's apparently not a big fan. Could you share the Kalifornia recipe?
