I have a pair of Keen Newport Sandals. They are very comfortable and waterproof.

I was wondering if anyone has used these or similar type Sandals instead of regular dive booties in tropical waters ?

Thanks,

Sy

They may be "comfortable" and "waterproof", but dive booties are made for more than 'walkin' and that's just what they do... one of these days... whoops.. sorry.. getting nostalgic there.

Anyways, dive booties not only keep your fins/straps from chafing tender tootsie bits, but also protect you against accidental scrapes on coral, rock, etc. Not only that, but how wouldl they fit over your fins? And wouldn't they get caught on stuff?

Just my $0.02' worth...

Your $0.02 is worth a lot more than my idea.

Turns out that the front "bumper" on the Keens won't allow for even getting into the fins.

Thanks
