I have an ocean kayak drifter. It's a wide kayak so I've traded speed for stability. I don't paddle more than 1/2 mile so it works for me.

The nice thing about kayaks is their simplicity but this one fascinates me. I saw at a fish expo last weekend for around $3000, pretty expensive kayak.

I didn't vote yet.
I want to figure out how to make my Native WaterCraft 14.5 into a diveable Kayak.
It is more of a cross between a Kayak and a Canoe and is open on top. I think if I added an outrigger and some skirts to reduce water splashing in it might be possible. It is very stable to paddle in open water, but climbing back in is my problem.
Any thoughts?

some type of outriggers would probably help increase stability

I have an Ocean Kayak Drifter too.
I was able to add a line going all the way around the edge of the yak, so I can clip off anywhere I need. Rather than adding rivets or the like to the Yak.

Very nice. I think we need to add a thread for yak diving tips and tricks. thanks for the inspiration.
