I also have an interest in servicing my own Scuba equipment and have a collection
of service manuals for the taking.

How critical are the sizing of the O-Rings and how do you find the right size.
I bought several sets off eBay.

Where can a guy find parts without going throught an LDS?

I measured all of mine with dial calipers and got replacements from my local Cat dealer.
They are available all over the place from hydraulics and transmission suppliers, the latter a lot cheaper than going to Caterpillar.
I was just in a hurry for a couple so got them there over the counter. I didn't replace all of the o-rings anyway. Just the ones that needed it. All of the static rings were fine, so I just cleaned, lubed and replaced.

Anyway, I figure this last service on two sets of regs came in slightly more expensive than having them done by my LDS, but I now have all the tools for ever more. :D
